Rossiya said it was using uncertified aeronautical databases for the SSJ 100 aircraft with the permission of the Federal Air Transport Agency, the airline said in a comment received by Kommersant. The company’s press service clarified that the carrier, “like other major operators of domestically produced aviation equipment,” uses a database from the branch of the Aeronautical Information Center (CAI) of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise State ATM Corporation.
As Kommersant reported, “Irkut” had previously refused to download the databases of this manufacturer at the request of “Russia”, because they had not yet passed the certification procedure. “Permission to use (CAI.— ”b”) was obtained on the basis of the decision of the Federal Air Transport Agency and before the completion of the procedure for approving the CAI as a supplier of downloadable software, ”explained in Rossiya.
Irkut, in a commentary to Kommersant, noted that he had not received complaints about the databases authorized by him from Avia Briefing from operators, without specifying at the time of publication that Rossiya was not among the users of the only certified supplier.
“The airline notified the manufacturing plant about the use of the CAI database back in 2022,” the company commented. They added that Rossiya stands for the equal admission of all service providers, provided that they pass all the necessary procedures and regulations established by the manufacturer and the regulator in the field of civil aviation.
