They will be films from non-European countries
In the past few months, the distribution of American and European films has practically come to naught in Russia. However, Moskino plans to make up for their absence with films from South Korea, India, Turkey, China and other countries.
In conversation with RIA Novosti Natalya Mokritskaya, general director of Moskino, said that the best films from these countries will appear at the box office. She stressed that no one has canceled the difference in mentalities and there will be a touch of some cinematic exoticism, but it is necessary to work in this direction.
As Mokritskaya noted, it is necessary to restore contact with the largest Asian studios, since directors from that part of the world have something to offer Russian viewers, for example, blockbusters that have conquered Europeans and Americans.
The Moschino CEO recalled the resounding success of the South Korean film Parasite, directed by Bong Joon Ho, which won several Oscars in 2020. And more recently, according to Mokritskaya, the Indian historical thriller RRR became the leader of the box office, outperforming even Batman.
