In the first nine months of 2023, Russia accounted for the largest share of world imports of tangerines – 21%, or 406 thousand tons in volume terms. In monetary terms, Russia is also the leader, purchasing tangerines for $412 million, which is 8% more than for the same period in 2022, reports “RIA News” with reference to open data and data provided by Rusprodsoyuz.
The agency clarifies that the global volume of imports of tangerines in January-September last year exceeded 1.8 million tons. In monetary terms, the United States purchased tangerines worth $396 million in the first nine months, ranking second in the world and reducing the figure year-on-year by 22%, RIA Novosti reports. In third place is France ($240 million, +28%), in fourth place is Great Britain ($203 million, +1.5%), and in fifth place is Germany ($196 million, +7.5%), the agency reports.
