In “Digital economy” told how retailers can use AI technologies

Retailers can use artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to solve various marketing tasks, as well as to manage their business. The director of the direction “Digital transformation of industries” ANO “Digital economy” Alexey Sidoryuk told about it on conferences “Kommersant” “E-commerce in Russia: New Retail. New Opportunities”.

Large retailers have begun to use AI to automate customer interaction scenarios. This allowed companies to introduce chatbots for text communication with customers and provide technical support to customers, said Mr. Sidoryuk. Thanks to this, retailers have been able to cut their customer service costs by up to 70%, he said.

Alexey Sidoryuk added that AI can also predict the demand for goods. The use of AI for this task made it possible to increase the conversion of customers and generate more targeted recommendations for the issuance of goods.

Also, small and medium-sized businesses can use payment systems with customer retention and return mechanisms for new purchases, Mr. Sidoruk added. Thanks to these systems, companies can increase their revenue by 10%, the average check by 11%, he explained.

Alexey Sidoryuk also identified several trends in the use of AI in the next two years. According to him, Russian companies will more often use AI for predictive analytics in retail and warehouse logistics, due to this, the efficiency of omnichannel trade will increase. Mr. Sidoryuk added that in the future, within five to seven years, drones will be used more often in Russia to deliver goods, and search and online fitting of goods based on AI and 3D vision will become more popular.
