The State Council of the Republic of Crimea included the property of LLC Megastroy in the list of nationalized enterprises, said the speaker of the republican parliament Vladimir Konstantinov. According to him, the deputies made appropriate changes to the 2014 resolution “On Issues of Property Management of the Republic of Crimea”.
“The list of property of foreign citizens and states that commit unfriendly actions against Russia, subject to nationalization, has been supplemented with objects of movable and immovable property of Megastroy LLC. Work on the nationalization of the property of Ukrainian oligarchs in Crimea will be continued,”— wrote Mr. Konstantinov in his Telegram channel.
According to Kommersant’s sources in the Crimean authorities, in fact, the owners of the Megastroy company, which owns a land plot of 20 thousand square meters. m, as well as a number of non-residential buildings and premises in the village of Chistenkoye near Simferopol, are the former People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksandr Gerega and his wife Galina, an ex-deputy of the Kyiv City Council. They also owned the biggest construction hypermarket in Crimea, Novacenter, recently expropriated by local authorities.
In early November, the Crimean authorities nationalized more than 130 facilities that belonged to Ukrainian owners, including the Bakhchisaray cement plant, the largest in the region, and the Zaliv shipbuilding plant, which has been fulfilling multibillion-dollar government orders from the Russian Defense Ministry since 2014.
