In Britain, the court issued an arrest warrant for the ex-wife of Arkady Rotenberg – Kommersant

The High Court of London has issued an arrest warrant for the ex-wife of Russian billionaire Arkady Rotenberg, Natalia, reports The Telegraph. The decision stems from the fact that she did not appear in court to consider the claim of the law firm Candey.

Judge Andrew Ritchie had earlier sentenced Ms Rothenberg to three weeks in prison, but she had the option of avoiding jail time by appearing in court, but that didn’t happen. Candey argued in court that the defendant was ignoring court orders and the company’s attempts to contact her.

Candey is trying to recover 11.5 thousand from Ms. Rotenberg. It is alleged that the defendant did not pay them, refusing the services of lawyers who represented her interests in the case of Mr. Rotenberg’s estate in Surrey. The court initially sided with the wife, but upon reconsideration, the lawyers failed to prove that the property registered to the offshore company belongs to a Russian businessman.

According to The Telegraph, in 2022 Ms Rotenberg had her $8.7 million flat in London confiscated for failing to make mortgage payments.

Arkady and Natalya Rotenberg were spouses in 2005-2013. The divorce proceedings took place in a London court. Initially, Mrs. Rotenberg claimed half of the jointly acquired property, but later agreed to real estate and property intended for personal use. In 2019, it became known that she was married to Armenian politician Tigran Arzakantsyan. Mrs Rotenberg participated in the activities of his party.
