In April, 1.07 million consumer loans were issued in Russia. This is 2.4% less than it was in March (1.1 million), according to press release National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBCH). At the same time, compared to the same period in 2022, the number of consumer loans issued increased by 77.4% (0.6 million in April 2022).
According to the NBKI, the largest number of consumer loans in April 2023 was provided in Moscow (64.5 thousand), Moscow region (55.2 thousand), Krasnodar Territory (40.6 thousand), St. Petersburg (38.4 thousand .) and Tatarstan (35.1 thousand). A decrease in the issuance of consumer loans was revealed in Volgograd (by 5.3%), Nizhny Novgorod (5.2%), Tula (5.1%), Samara (4.5%) and Saratov (4%) regions. An increase in the number of loans issued was recorded in the Khabarovsk (by 7.7%) and Primorsky (+4.3%) regions, Irkutsk (+1.1%) and Kemerovo (+0.8%) regions, as well as in the Krasnoyarsk Territory ( +0.3%.
VTB said that the consumer lending market has recovered after the failure of 2022, and some of its segments in 2023 will show results comparable to the results of the record 2021. The bank is betting on mortgages and car loans. However, experts are not sure that even these segments have fully recovered from last year.
