By data National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI) as of December 2022, the average number of active loans per Russian borrower was 2.3 units. This figure is virtually unchanged from December 2021 (2.2 loans). Most loans are from Russians aged 25 to 30 years (an average of 2.6 for each). Borrowers over the age of 65 have the lowest credit burden (1.8 loans).

In the regional context, the residents of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug are the most indebted (on average, 2.4 loans per borrower). Least of all loans are taken in Chechnya, Ingushetia, Crimea and Sevastopol (1.6 each).
