The Russians spent in the main categories of sales on “Black Friday”, November 25, more than 13 billion rubles. this year, which is 11% more than last year. The number of purchased goods increased by 80%, and the average check remained at the level of 2021, research shows VTB.
The biggest increase in sales came from clothes and shoes, where spending by Russians increased by 12%. Most of all – from 25% to 63% – increased sales of jumpers, cardigans, trousers, casual and sportswear. Shoes became the leader in terms of spending – sales increased by 8% and reached almost 450 million rubles. In second place in terms of spending is outerwear (almost 300 million rubles).
spending on electronics on “Black Friday” decreased by 13%. Most of all – five times – decreased spending on tablets and e-books. At the same time, in terms of digital goods, devices for a “smart” home showed a five-fold increase in sales, four times more than last year, Russians purchased antennas and set-top boxes for TV.
On Black Friday, Russians also increased spending on hotel booking (42%), sports training (32%), connection (21%) and Construction Materials (ten%). Demand educational services decreased by 38%.
Experts’ predictions about the activity of buyers on Black Friday in 2022 have diverged radically. Analysts at Tinkoff Kassa expected a decrease in buyer activity by almost a third, to a four-year low. Marketplaces, on the contrary, counted on significant growth. Their forecasts, among other things, were based on the successful results of the already past sales in early November.
