“Meetings were held in Novgorod, Tikhvin and Vyatka. All employees signed a schedule for the next three months and were given guarantees that this condition would continue for the next 12 months. Earlier it became known that 510 employees of the IKEA Tikhvin and IKEA Vyatka factories signed a petition demanding that they guarantee the preservation of their jobs when moving to a new owner for 12 months, and also pay each employee a one-time compensation in the amount of at least 50,000 rubles .
On March 4, IKEA temporarily closed its stores in Russia amid a Russian special operation in Ukraine, logistical problems and sanctions. In mid-June, it became known that the company was looking for buyers for its four factories in Russia, as well as reducing staff and selling off the rest of the goods.
The sale for employees took place at the end of June in the stores of the chain. On July 5, an online sale for customers started. It ended on August 15th. During September, stores were open only for the issuance of completed orders, as well as for the return and exchange of goods.
