Actor Igor Kapatov, who voiced the bear cub Mishutka in the children’s television program “Good night, kids!”, has died at the age of 71. This was reported at the Bashkir State Puppet Theater, where he worked in 1977–1982.
“This evening we received sad news. People’s Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Igor Albertovich Kapatov has passed away,” says a message from the theater group in “In contact with”published yesterday, February 29.
Mr. Kapatov began working in the puppet theater troupe after graduating from the Gorky Theater School of Arts. The theater said that he “was an actor predominantly with a sharp character, prone to eccentricity, grotesquery and deep psychological analysis.” He also worked on performances as a director and production designer.
Since 1982 he was a member of the Union of Theater Workers. In 1993 he was awarded the title of People’s Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In 2001, Igor Kapatov moved to Moscow, and from 2003 to 2016 he voiced Mishutka in Good Night, Kids!
