Igor Chalik will leave the post of Deputy Minister of Transport

Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation for Aviation Igor Chalik will leave his post in December 2023. This was reported by two sources of Vedomosti and then confirmed by a representative of the Ministry of Transport.

Chalik “continues to perform his duties until the expiration of his service contract,” says a ministry spokesman. According to him, then he plans to move “to another position in the system of the Russian transport complex.” One of Vedomosti’s sources clarified that the contract with Chalik expires in December 2023, and a decision was made not to renew it.

“Given his high competence and many years of experience, Igor Petrovich will be offered one of the leading positions in the system of organizations of the Ministry of Transport of Russia,” added a representative of the ministry’s press service, without specifying the name of the organization.

In the structure of the Ministry of Transport, taking into account the subordinate departments of the Federal Air Transport Agency, Rostransnadzor and other federal agencies, there are several dozen Federal State Unitary Enterprises, Federal Public Institutions, Federal Communities and other government organizations. Among them, for example, are the FSUE State Corporation for Air Traffic Management, the State Transport Leasing Company, the Russian University of Transport (MIIT), the FSUE State Research Institute of Civil Aviation, the FSUE Administration of Civil Airports (Aerodromes), etc.

Interfax and TASS were the first to report planned personnel changes in the Ministry of Transport, citing their sources. They did not specify where exactly Chalik would be appointed and who would take his place. This was also not disclosed by Vedomosti’s sources.

Igor Chalik was born on December 3, 1957 in Orsk (Orenburg region of the RSFSR), he turns 66 years old this year. According to the law “On the State Civil Service of the Russian Federation,” the age limit for civil service is 65 years, but can be extended to 70 years “by the state body or relevant official who appointed him to the position.”

Chalik is a professional pilot: in 1979 he graduated from the Aktobe Higher Flight School of Civil Aviation, after which he got a job at the Syktyvkar Aviation Enterprise, where he piloted a Tu-134. In 1983 he moved to the Central Directorate of International Air Transport “Aeroflot” He flew on Il-86 and Airbus aircraft. In 2003-2008 was the commander of the Airbus A320, in 2008 – 2010. – commander of the Airbus A330.
