iFly to resume flights to Egypt on Friday

The iFly airline has promised to send the first of three delayed flights with tourists to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh on Friday evening through Syrian airspace, the press service of the air carrier reports.
“Taking into account the restrictions previously imposed on the Russian Federation by a number of states, the only possible route was found, including a flight in the airspace of the Syrian Arab Republic. From the aviation authorities of all countries along the route, the airline received the necessary permissions, ”the message says (quote by Interfax).
The Federal Air Transport Agency on the eve recommended that iFly airlines transport passengers to Egypt on flights of other air carriers, because Syrian airspace is potentially dangerous.
iFly has previously stated that flights are being delayed due to the closure of Jordanian airspace. The authorities of this country require insurance issued in London for flights, but Russian airlines cannot receive it due to sanctions.
At the end of February, the European Union banned the sale of aircraft and spare parts to Russian airlines, and a ban was also introduced on insurance and maintenance of goods related to the aviation and space industries. The EU countries and a number of others have closed their airspace to Russia, while Moscow has taken similar measures.
