INTERVIEW – Since August 22, the former Miss France flourishes alongside Vincent Cerutti in “Le M Radio Réveil”, the morning show of M Radio broadcast Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
LE FIGARO. – How was your arrival on M Radio?
Malika MENARD. – At the beginning of July, Nicolas Petit, the station manager, contacted me to try out for the replacement of Tiffany Bonvoisin who had left for Chérie FM. He’s someone I’ve known for a long time and he follows my work, especially my podcasts Fuck the complexes where I interview influencers in line with the theme of my book. So I went to a casting, we were eight women and I was selected to be every morning alongside Vincent Cerutti. You had to be in the mood and I had a good laugh by his side. Apart from Miss France, in general, I miss my castings. But I went there without pressure. Radio is new to me, I have a lot to learn about how it works.
What was your reaction when you learned that you had been selected?
After passing the casting, I really hoped to be taken and I was pleasantly surprised. Finding yourself in a morning show on the radio is a bit like prime time. Everything went very quickly between the moment I passed my tests and the signature. I didn’t really have a vacation this summer since I was writing a young influencer’s book and I had to hand in my manuscript. Besides that, I was at the bedside of my father who was hospitalized. I allowed myself a short week in Ibiza last week before debuting on Monday on M Radio.
What will be your role in this morning?
It’s Vincent Cerutti the leader of the show and I come to bring humor to his side. Today, I no longer want to get involved by obligation but by choice. I want to be happy to go to work and feel good. The atmosphere and the welcome of the M Radio teams were decisive. I have just as much pleasure in presenting a program for the Sqool TV channel, “Souvenirs d’écolenier”, where we work in goodwill with competent people. I don’t want to be in competition and ego battles anymore. I prioritize my well-being above all else.

Your schedule is particularly full now…
I learn to get up very early, every minute of sleep is precious! (Laughs.) It’s all about energy management. During the four hours of radio in the morning with music tracks that punctuate the show, you have to manage to stay focused until the end. In the afternoon, once a week, it will be a shoot for Sqool TV. Another day, it will be dedicated to creating content for my social networks. There will also be podcasts from time to time. And I haven’t finished writing the book I’m involved in. These are all activities that I love.
How did the first broadcasts on M Radio go?
Monday’s was like a pilot, I learn a little more every day thanks to Vincent’s instructions and those of the director. At the end of the week, we will debrief and make the necessary readjustments. Each show is rich in lessons.
Did you know Vincent Cerutti before working with him on this morning show?
Yes, when I became Miss France, he was in a relationship with Chloé Mortaud, he was present at the time of my election. He witnessed the shift in my personal history. We have known each other for a long time without really knowing each other. I got to know him through his relationship with my friend Chloé, I watched his rise to fame on TF1 when he started hosting “Dance with the Stars”. I had interviewed her when I worked for the L’Équipe channel. And I had met him during the first radio casting that I had done for Chérie FM, he had just joined the station. We were about fifteen to pass it, I did not have the necessary confidence to impose myself and itit was Laurie Cholewa who had been selected. He’s a great host, very caring. He made me feel very welcome.
