The plant “Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus” in St. Petersburg extended the downtime until the end of February, said TASS with reference to the order of the company. The plant stopped production in March 2022 due to difficulties with the supply of components.
“We inform you about the announcement of downtime in February 2023. February 20 and February 21 will be working days for all employees of our company,” the document says.
Employees of the plant also claim that the company continues to reduce. The press service of the plant refused to comment on this information to TASS.
In March 2022, the Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg suspended production. The company explained that the decision was made due to problems with the supply of components to Russia. Petersburg “Fontanka” wrotethat the plant plans to cut up to 80% of employees. Before the cuts began, 2.5 thousand employees worked there.
In December, Vedomosti reportedthat the company resumed the production of bodies and their coloring for Hyundai Solaris. It was planned that the parts would be exported to a plant in Almaty for the assembly of machines.
