DECRYPTION – In a worrying macroeconomic and geopolitical context, all saw their sales increase, and three-quarters show rising profits. Something to approach the end of the year in great shape.

Soaring commodity prices, shortage of components, rising rates, chaos in the global supply chain, war in Ukraine, resumption of Covid in China… the first half was not easy for the French flagships of the CAC 40. And yet, all these difficulties have left very few scars in their accounts. On the contrary, they seem to have strengthened the forty largest French companies. These surprised by publishing, for the third time in a year and a half, record profits.

The cumulative net income of the forty largest French groups jumped 29%, to 77 billion euros, against nearly 60 billion in the same period last year, which was already a record semester. Profits grew faster than cumulative sales, up 23%.

The forty largest French companies have all seen their activity progress. Three-quarters show growth in their profits, and only two are in losses…
