The Hermitage-Amsterdam, which until last year was a branch of the State Hermitage Museum, will be renamed the H`Art Museum. About this today, June 26, reported leadership of the Amsterdam Museum.
Museum director Annabelle Birney said it is being resurrected under a new name and with a new team of staff. Ms. Birney also said that exhibitions are planned to be organized jointly with major world museums – the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Pompidou Center in Paris and the British Museum.
The Hermitage-Amsterdam has existed since 2004, and in 2009 it moved to its own building. The museum held exhibitions of paintings from the storerooms of the State Hermitage. In March 2022, the leadership of the Hermitage-Amsterdam announced on curtailing cooperation with the Russian museum.
