President Vladimir Putin held a separate meeting with Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev. He said that 53 foreign airlines continue to operate flights to Russia.
According to the minister, the Russian air fleet consists of almost 1,300 aircraft, of which 1,163 are used for passenger transportation. “14 airlines fly from the Russian Federation to 22 states, and to us from 27 countries,” Mr. Savelyev said.
Yesterday, February 8, Mr. Putin met with representatives of the aviation industry. He named correct decision of the Ministry of Transport to leave foreign aircraft in the Russian Federation, but toldthat he and Vitaly Savelyev repeatedly swore because the president insists on increasing purchases for the production of domestic aircraft.
Recall that in March 2022, Vladimir Putin signed a law on registering the rights to foreign aircraft that are leased from Russian companies and issuing domestic airworthiness certificates to them. This allowed Russian airlines to use foreign ships on domestic flights. Rosaviatsiya spokethat they can “fly safely” until 2030.
