Harrison Ford wins Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival

American actor Harrison Ford was awarded the honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The awarding of the actor was not announced in advance, so it came as a surprise. He came to the festival to present the film “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Fate” – the fifth in a row, in which he played a major role.
“I am deeply touched by this distinction,” the 80-year-old actor said as he received the award (radio quotation France Info). He also announced that he would no longer appear in Indiana Jones films.
76th Cannes Film Festival started in France yesterday, May 18, and will last until May 27. There will be no films from Russia in the competition program this year. The main competition included 21 films, including Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, Jessica Hausner’s Club Zero, and Wim Wenders’ Beautiful Days.
