The head of Sberbank, German Gref, proposed to weaken measures to control aerial photography from drones. He announced his initiative at a meeting on the development of unmanned aerial systems, held in the Rudnevo industrial park with the participation of President Vladimir Putin.
According to Mr. Gref, drone photography control is “a huge problem that slows down the development of the entire industry,” because “it’s simply impossible without digital maps.” “The whole world is on the path of withdrawing areas where filming is not allowed, or it is transmitted with confirmation that there is nothing prohibited there. I think we could work out the topic and make proposals for changing the legislation, ”he said (quoted by TASS).
The head of Sberbank added that the whole world is also moving towards the automation of unmanned aerial vehicles. “The development of artificial intelligence allows you to do this, but this requires a digital map of the area and a good calculator on board. And in this case, we will be able to move quite well,” he says.
Mr Putin during the meeting declared, which considers the unmanned aviation industry “the most important area of the country’s activity”, and its volume can reach 1 trillion rubles. In April, as Kommersant learned, the government formed a list of important areas for the technological development of the Russian Federation until 2030. The final list includes projects focused on ensuring “technological sovereignty”, including in the drone industry.
