The head of Sberbank, German Gref, said that his company can be privatized and is a very attractive asset that people would be happy to buy. In his opinion, the privatization of 25% of Sberbank could increase the investment attractiveness of the Russian market.

“If the state at some point in time decided to privatize 25% of Sberbank, and for the state to control 25% of the shares, then this would increase the investment attractiveness of the Russian market and stimulate the entire financial market,” Mr. Gref said on the air of Rossiya 24″ (quote from TASS). However, he noted that he had not heard about the government’s plans to carry out privatization.

Since 2020, 50% plus one share of Sberbank belongs to the National Welfare Fund. The remaining securities of the credit institution are in public circulation.

Earlier today, December 22, the head of Sberbank statedthat the company expects to pay record dividends in its history. He emphasized that there will be no drop in Sberbank’s profits in 2024 and 2025; the credit institution expects to increase profits from year to year.
