The company was able to start selling gold bars to Russians after a law came into force in early April of this year that allows Russian citizens to purchase gold bars without VAT directly from refineries, as well as from JSC Goznak. In the State Duma consider, that the sale of gold bars to the population “will contribute to the de-dollarization of the economy” of the country.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Finance reported that Russians in 2022 had Sales 75 tons of investment gold bullion. In 2020-2021, the volume of purchases was only about 5 tons of gold and more than 8 tons of silver.
