“Got through hard times”: a military correspondent from Mariupol showed a photograph of the “wounded” Pushkin

War correspondent and rapper Akim Apachev, who in the spring of 2022 created a song about the “demons” of Azovstal (the name of the steel plant in the basements of which Ukrainian radical militants were hiding), published a photograph from his hometown, which depicts a monument to Pushkin against the backdrop of Russian flags. At the same time, it is clear that the “body” of the sculpture is uncritically damaged by fragments.
“Pushkin went through hard times in Mariupol. He was slightly cut by shrapnel, but he still looks proudly through time,” Apachev wrote.
Also, the performer from the patriotic camp came up with his own formula for the Russian cultural presence in the world: “Where the monuments to A.S. stand. Pushkin, Russian people live,” he summed up.
If we recall the total demolition of everything connected with Russia in the regions controlled by Kyiv, the situation for the priceless historical heritage is almost a stalemate. There are only two options: either survive, but get “wounded” as a result of the battles for the city, or be destroyed as a result of supposedly “civilized” decommunization and “the fight against the imperial past.”
