The Google search engine for the query “dollar exchange rate” at approximately 21:20 Moscow time returned an erroneous exchange rate of 62.62 rubles. After 15 minutes, the currency began to be displayed in the search engine at the rate of 97.43 rubles, which is close to the real value on the Moscow Exchange (97.39 rubles).
Telegram users noticed the glitch. RBC reports that problems with incorrect display of currency data could have arisen earlier, since, for example, the issuance of incorrect information on Bitcoin was recorded from 21:05 Moscow time (until 21:30 Moscow time).
This is not the first time Google has produced incorrect currency data. On June 7, 2023, the Pakistani website Geo News reported a search engine error, as a result of which the dollar-rupee exchange rate was 35% lower than the real one. The publication explained the failure by problems with the search engine.
