Germany has reached its goal of filling gas storage facilities to 95%. According to the European Group of Operators GIE, German gas storage facilities are 95.14% full. In the entire EU, storage facilities are 91.64% full.
The German government has obliged all gas operators to reach the target of 95% by 1 November. In September, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made public plan to support the economy during the crisis. One of its key points was the freezing of electricity and gas prices in the country. In addition, the country will reduce the value-added tax on gas sales from 19% to 7% until the spring of 2024.
