Instruction sent to prefects to target checks
“I asked the police and the national gendarmerie for this month of August to intensify these controls and I hope that there will be ten thousand control operations from today on all the national territory. to fight against these criminal acts of people who take the road for their road “he added.
The ministry sent the prefects an instruction, consulted by Agence France-Presse, in which it is requested that these checks target “the most exposed axes” according “dates and time slots”.
Mr. Darmanin also orders “proceed with the systematic seizure of the machines used”of“optimize the use of video protection” and D’“identify storage locations” motorcycles or quads, in conjunction with social landlords and municipal police.

In Marseille, the minister defended his policy of firmness on Monday, recalling “that for two months there have been eight thousand operations by the police and the gendarmerie” in France. They resulted, according to him, in one thousand two hundred arrests, ” never seen “and seven hundred seizures of motorcycles, quads or cars.
A 2018 law has strengthened the fight against these motor races and provides for penalties of up to five years in prison for their perpetrators. A young man charged

Saturday, the day after the events, at the start of the afternoon, the young man went to the police station with his lawyer and “acknowledged the facts”said the Pontoise prosecution.
In a press release issued Monday evening by their lawyer, Raphaël Cabral, the little girl’s family declares “to take note, with relief”, of “the provisional detention of the alleged perpetrator”. Me Cabral also explained that the family “does not wish to comment further on the case and trusts justice”calling “to respect his private life”.
In the Val-d’Oise, since the beginning of April, five hundred and thirty-four interventions have been recorded for urban rodeos. Thirty-seven people were arrested and thirty-four motorcycles were seized, according to figures from the departmental directorate of public security. On June 8, in Rennes, a 19-year-old young man died after being hit by a motorcycle during an urban rodeo.
