The general director of the Tretyakov Gallery, Elena Pronicheva, went on sick leave from June 1, sources told RBC. The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) expects that on June 4, the 15th-century icon “Trinity”, painted by Andrei Rublev, will arrive at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
According to RBC, for the period of the hospital general director, her first deputy Rinat Shigapov was to occupy. It is he, as informed Kommersant, in July 2022, signed documents on the temporary extradition of the Trinity to the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra. Zelfira Tregulova, who then held the post of general director of the Tretyakov Gallery, went on vacation for this period. However, now the order on the performance by Mr. Shigapov of the duties of the general director has been withdrawn, all documents signed by him during this time have been redone under the signature of Mrs. Pronicheva.
For the removal of the “Trinity” from the Tretyakov Gallery, the signatures of the general director of the gallery and the chief custodian of museum items are required, the interlocutor of RBC explained. The documents are currently under preparation. So far, it is assumed that a temporary transfer of the icon will be prescribed for the period of the celebration of the Trinity.
