Gazprom’s net profit for the first half of the year amounted to 296 billion rubles

PJSC Gazprom published report at the end of the first half of 2023. According to the document, the company’s net profit under international financial reporting standards (IFRS) amounted to 296.241 billion rubles. (for the same period in 2022 – 2.514 trillion rubles).
Press service of the group explained such a result by the influence of exchange rate differences on financial items of 567 billion rubles. against the backdrop of a depreciation of the ruble over the period by 24% against the dollar and by 26% against the euro.
Gazprom’s revenue for the first half of the year amounted to 4.134 trillion rubles, the EBITDA ratio was 1.208 trillion rubles. The dividend base amounted to 618 billion rubles.
The company attributes the results to the fact that the decline in exports to Europe was “partially offset by an increase in supplies to China”, as well as “the efficient operation of the oil business”.
Gazprom did not publish interim IFRS financials in 2022. The group reported for these indicators on May 23, 2023. Revenue amounted to 11.7 trillion rubles, net profit – 1.3 trillion rubles, net profit attributable to shareholders – 1.2 trillion rubles. The Board of Directors of Gazprom recommended not to pay final dividends for 2022.
