Gazprombank will allocate 15 billion rubles for the creation of a perinatal center in St. Petersburg

Gazprombank will finance the design and reconstruction of a new perinatal center in St. Petersburg, which will start operating in 2027, the cost of the project, according to preliminary estimates, will amount to 15 billion rubles, the press service of the credit institution reported.

An agreement on public-private partnership in the implementation of this project was signed between the government of St. Petersburg and the project company Modern Perinatal Technologies, a subsidiary of the EKS group of companies.

The project involves the construction of the largest specialized medical center with a neonatological hospital for 45 beds, an obstetric hospital for 260 beds, wards with a joint stay of mother and child, a department of radiation and magnetic resonance diagnostics, etc. The center will help patients with difficult pregnancy, impaired reproductive function and the risk of preterm birth.

“I am sure that this cooperation contributes to the active solution of important social problems in our country,” said Alexei Chichkanov, First Vice President of the bank.

In the press service of Smolny, in turn, notedthat the center will appear on Vavilov Street in the Kalininsky District, about 1,000 people will work in it. The provision of medical services in the center will be carried out by the “Maternity Hospital No. 17” under the compulsory medical insurance system.

“We are creating a modern medical institution, the main activity of which will be to help the population to improve reproductive health, increase the birth rate and prevent genetic diseases,” Governor Alexander Beglov was quoted as saying.
