The resource base for the project is the Chayandinskoye field in Yakutia (gas reserves – 1.2 trillion cubic meters) and the Kovyktinskoye field in the Irkutsk region (1.8 trillion cubic meters).

At the beginning of February 2022, Gazprom and CNPC signed a contract for the supply of 10 billion cubic meters. m of gas per year to China along the Far Eastern route (according to the project, the pipe starts at a gas measuring station in the area of ​​Russian Dalnerechensk, then goes underwater across the Ussuri River and ends at the Hulin launch station in China).
