Gazprom to build plants for the production of LNG and oil products on Sakhalin

Gazprom is going to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant on Sakhalin. The company signed the corresponding agreement with the government of the Sakhalin region at the Eastern Economic Forum. The parties also signed an agreement on the construction of a plant for the production of petroleum products. This was announced by the head of the region Valery Limarenko.
“Liquefied natural gas will come to the Kuriles next year. Within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, an agreement was signed with Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Board of PJSC Gazprom. It provides for the construction of a liquefied natural gas plant on Sakhalin,” wrote Valery Limarenko in his Telegram channel.
Mr. Limarenko added that the authorities of the region are going to fully gasify Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands until 2025.
Valery Limarenko also said that the government of the Sakhalin Region had signed an agreement with Gazprom on the construction of a plant for the production of petroleum products on Sakhalin. According to him, the stage of development of the feasibility study has been completed by now. Mr. Limarenko recalled that in 2021, the project to build an oil refinery was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
