Nord Stream gas supplies have fallen to zero due to scheduled repairs at the Portovaya compressor station, according to the data of the gas pipeline operator Nord Stream AG.

In the period from 00:00 to 02:00 Moscow time, gas pumping remained at the level of 14’429’338 kWh. But after that it dropped to 10,000 kWh. From 06:00 “Gazprom» completely stopped deliveries through the gas pipeline.

The day before, Gazprom confirmed its plans to suspend gas transportation through Nord Stream from August 31 to September 3. Thus, the company stopped the only gas pumping unit that works at Portovaya. The reason is the need for maintenance and preventive maintenance. If technical malfunctions are not detected, then gas pumping will resume at 04:00 Moscow time on September 3 to a volume of 33 million cubic meters. m per day.

At the end of July, gas supplies dropped to 20% as Gazprom decommissioned another gas turbine engine at the Portovaya compressor station. The company explained that the equipment has expired the time between overhauls before overhaul.

Previously, gas pumping had to be reduced to 40%, because the German Siemens did not return the turbine in time after repair in Canada due to sanctions. As a result of negotiations with Germany, Ottawa agreed to transfer all six turbines undergoing maintenance in Montreal to Gazprom and sent one of them to Germany.

However, the turbine was never accepted by Gazprom due to legal uncertainty. In early August, Vitaly Markelov, deputy chairman of the board of the company, said that the gas monopoly was ready to accept the turbine if it received guarantees that sanctions would not be applied.

In Germany, they say that the turbine is ready for shipment. In early August, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Russia could take her away at any time, all that was needed was her participation.
