“The volume of gas supplied by Gazprom to the Sudzha GIS for transit to Moldova through the territory of Ukraine exceeds the physical volume transmitted at the border of Ukraine with Moldova,” the report says. The press service added that Moldovagaz, in accordance with the contract, has already paid Gazprom for part of the supplies for November.
The company also warned that while maintaining the transit imbalance through Ukraine, on November 28 from 10:00 “Gazprom» will begin to reduce the supply of gas to the Sudzha GIS for transit through Ukraine in the amount of the daily undersupply.
On November 2, Moldovan Energocom purchased 5.6 million cubic meters of natural gas, which was transferred through the Budnica delivery point in Slovakia on the border with Ukraine, Spinu reported. Gas reserves in Moldova reached 157 million cubic meters.
Now Moldova is experiencing a serious energy crisis. Earlier, the President of the Republic, Maia Sandu, said that the country could be left without gas and electricity in winter. She explained that Gazprom had reduced gas supplies, and electricity supplies from Transnistria and Ukraine had ceased. The President of Moldova stressed that despite the efforts of the authorities aimed at saving energy, “the cost of paying the bills of one family amounted to 70-75% of income.”
