Gazprom dobycha Kuznetsk (part of Gazprom) has postponed the launch of Russia’s first plant for the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from coal-bed methane at the Naryksko-Ostashkinskoye methane-coal field in the Kemerovo region. This was told to Vedomosti by a source familiar with the company’s plans, and confirmed by the press service of the regional government.

Gazprom dobycha Kuznetsk began construction of a medium-tonnage LNG plant with a capacity of 220,000 tons back in 2021 (Vedomosti wrote about this on June 21, 2021). At that time, it was planned that the first phase of the plant would be launched in 2023, and full capacity would be reached in 2024.
