The head of Gazprom Neft, Alexander Dyukov, said that the company has increased the production of petroleum products at oil refineries. According to him, the company could build another refinery closer to the eastern part of Russia, but such a possibility is not being considered.

“We believe that the existing capacities are sufficient to provide the domestic market with supplies of diesel fuel and gasoline,” Mr. Dyukov told reporters (quoted from “Interfax”). He did not specify the production volumes of petroleum products at the refinery. Alexander Dyukov added that after modernization, the Omsk Refinery processes the maximum possible volume of gasoline, diesel fuel and other petroleum products.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said today, March 29, that Russian oil companies have increased gasoline production after a series of attacks on refineries. He noted that oil workers have increased the load on those capacities that are available in order to supply more fuel to the domestic market, including the stock exchange.

Amid the shutdown of several refining capacities at refineries, the government introduced a ban on gasoline exports from March 1 to August 31. According to the Ministry of Energy, in March, gasoline shipments to Russian consumers increased by 13 thousand tons per day compared to February (up to 794 thousand tons), diesel fuel – by 15.5 thousand tons per day. The oil company covered the difference between production and supply volumes using accumulated reserves of petroleum products. As of March 22, they amounted to 1.9 million tons of gasoline and 3.4 million tons of diesel fuel.
