Gazprom: Moldova did not approve the audit report on debt for gas

“The report does not meet the requirements of audit independence, since one of its executors has a conflict of interest with PJSC Gazprom. The Moldovan side was notified in advance of this circumstance, but did not take any action to eliminate it,” the statement says.
Members of the supervisory board, as follows from the message, noted that the document does not meet international standards.
Gazprom stated that Moldovagaz’s debt for gas supplied was $433 million, and taking into account late payments – $709 million. The Russian company claimed that it continued to receive and fulfill daily requests for gas supplies from Moldovagaz, despite the refusal Moldova from purchases from a Russian company.
The Ministry of Energy of Moldova announced in early September that the government of the republic was ready to pay Gazprom only $8.6 million. At the same time, as the country’s Energy Minister Viktor Parlikov clarified, the republic has not abandoned the idea of working with Gazprom, but is waiting for a good price for gas purchases from a Russian company. Moldovan leader Maia Sandu statedthat the audit was carried out by “international companies recognized in this field” and Moldovagaz can pay Gazprom about $9 million.
