Through the gas measuring station (GIS) Sudzha, through the territory of Ukraine, Gazprom supplies gas to Europe in the amount of 40.3 million cubic meters. m. The application for the Sokhranovka GIS was rejected. This was announced by Gazprom official representative Sergei Kupriyanov.

“Gazprom supplies Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine in the volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side through the Sudzha GIS, 40.3 million cubic meters as of October 7. The application for the Sokhranovka GIS was rejected,” he said (quoted from TASS).

The day before, the volume of gas supplied amounted to 42.3 million cubic meters. m. Deliveries through the Sokhranovka GIS have not been carried out since May 2022 due to the refusal of Ukraine. Gazprom called the transfer of all supplies to the Sudzha GIS technologically impossible.

Currently, Russian gas is pumped to Europe through the territory of Ukraine and via the Turkish Stream. At the beginning of 2023, due to a reduction in demand, the volume of supplies through Sudzha decreased by 40%. It recovered by August due to strikes at LNG plants in Australia, which caused gas prices to fluctuate in the European market.
