Gazprom estimated the reduction of gas supplies to Europe

Russian gas deliveries to EU countries have decreased by 48% since January, informed “Gazprom» in your Telegram channel.

“Since the beginning of the year, the countries of the European Union have reduced the supply of Russian gas to their market by 48%, and taking into account the UK – by 49%,” the report says.

Earlier today it became known that the European Commission intends to present a proposal on setting a cap price for Russian gas at the EU Council meeting on September 9. At the same time, EC President Ursula von der Leyen noted that the share of Russian gas in the volume of imports in 2022 decreased from 40 to 9%. According to the draft document developed by the EC, which regulates the conditions for limiting the cost of fuel, prices for Russian pipeline gas should not exceed 50 euros per 1 MWh (about $528 per 1,000 cubic meters), sources told Politico.

At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the idea of ​​restricting gas prices from Russia by administrative means is “nonsense and nonsense.” Russia won’tthe president stressed, to supply gas, oil, coal and other energy resources if this does not meet the interests of the country’s economy and turns out to be unprofitable for it.

Last week “Gazprom” reported that the last gas compressor turbine, which was stopped for preventive maintenance on August 31, will not resume operation on September 2 due to the presence of malfunctions. After that, gas pumping through the Nord Stream was completely stopped.

Against the backdrop of this news, gas prices began to rise after slowing down on the news about the early filling of underground gas storage facilities (UGS) in Europe. In particular, Germany reached the 85% UGS occupancy level 2 months ahead of schedule.
