Earlier, one of these turbines from the “exchange fund”, according to Gazprom, was repaired in Canada and is now in Germany, and the second one could not go for scheduled maintenance.

Aleksey Grivach, Deputy Director General of the National Energy Security Fund, does not rule out that the Canadian Foreign Ministry is referring to turbines that have not yet been physically delivered to Canada for repairs. Hence, according to the expert, confusion arose. According to him, the expert, Germany is trying to put pressure on Canada in order to obtain from her guarantees for the return of turbines from repair. “This could be a key reason for German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to Canada,” he suggested.

At the beginning of summer, the problem with the return of turbines from Canada to Gazprom Siemens led to a significant reduction in the flow of gas through the Nord Stream. In mid-June, pumping through this route decreased to 40% of the pipeline’s nominal capacity of 150.6 million cubic meters. m per day.

Now this turbine is located in Germany. But “Gazprom”is not ready to take it away due to legal uncertainty and fears that sanctions from the EU, Great Britain and Canada will not allow it to be operated in the Russian Federation, Vitaly Markelov, deputy chairman of the board of Gazprom, explained earlier.
