Games World of Tanks and World of Warships changed names in Russia

The Russian game studio Lesta Games announced the change of the name of World of Tanks and World of Warships games in Russia to World of Tanks and World of Ships. The company also clarified that the accounts of Russian players will be transferred to the new Game Center access point. They will retain all previously accumulated bonuses and property.
“Favorite games will continue to delight you, not changing traditions, but under new names: World of Tanks, World of Ships and Tanks Blitz,” reads the message developers in the description of the new trailer for the game “World of Ships”.
Lesta Studio is a Russian game company that developed the naval MMO World of Warships (part of a trilogy with World of Tanks and World of Warplanes) and the mobile strategy game Warfair. Wargaming acquired the company in 2011.
August 22 company announced about creating a game client for users from Russia and Belarus. This will allow players to transfer their account to the RU region and save all game achievements. The developers note that the account transfer procedure is not mandatory, users can continue playing on Wargaming servers.
On March 31, Wargaming transferred the management of network games in Russia and Belarus to Lesta Studio from St. Petersburg. Kommersant’s source linked the developer’s decision to pressure from the government of Ukraine.
