In recent years, dead malls (an empty shopping center) have become so familiar in many countries that they have gained fans. In the profile group on the Reddit resource, 184 thousand people share photos of such objects every day. One of them, Northland Village Mall in Calgary, Canada, even managed to become the setting for one of this year’s popular TV series, The Last of Us. The trend has so far bypassed Russia: dead malls have not appeared in Moscow and St. Petersburg even after the pandemic. But perhaps this may soon change: the sanctions blow has not left its mark on the market.
