G7 countries are going to revise the price ceiling for Russian oil in March

The G7 countries intend to revise the price ceiling for oil from Russia in March. This was announced by Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Combating Terrorist Financing and Financial Crime Elizabeth Rosenberg.
“All I can say is that the G7 plans to reassess the ceiling in March,” Ms. Rosenberg said at the CERAWeek international energy conference in Houston (quoted from “RIA News”).
On December 5, the price limit for Russian oil at $60 per barrel came into force, and on February 5, for oil products at $100 per barrel. March 6 Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu urged halve the ceiling on oil prices from Russia to $30 per barrel.
According to the Ministry of Finance, against the background of restrictions in February, the average price of Urals fell to $49.56 per barrel, while in February 2022 it reached $92.15. Ministry of Finance also informedthat the oil and gas revenues of the Russian budget in January-February of this year decreased by 46%, to 947 billion rubles.
