FSSP fully recovered turnover fines from Google and Meta – Kommersant

The bailiffs fully recovered the fines from Google and Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), Interfax reported with reference to the data bank of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP). Previously, both companies were subject to billions of dollars in fines for repeated failure to delete information, access to which is subject to restriction (Part 5 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
According to the agency, as of January 1, there is no data on enforcement proceedings against Google and Meta. Previously, the court imposed two fines in the amount of 29 billion rubles against Google, and one fine in the amount of 2 billion rubles against Meta.
Interfax clarifies that debts have also been collected from Telegram, TikTok and YouTube. These companies were fined for failing to remove prohibited content.
The enforcement process is ongoing against Twitch Interactive and Twitter (now X) for similar offences. Twitch Interactive currently has a total production debt of 23 million rubles, Twitter – 51 million rubles.
On December 20, 2023, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined Google for the third time for 4.6 billion rubles. for repeated failure to remove information, including fakes about the Russian army and LGBT content. In April, the FSSP withdrew all funds from the accounts of Google’s Russian subsidiary, Google LLC. The amount was transferred to the service’s escrow account in connection with the legal proceedings.
