Sberbank will return the previous percentage of bonuses to the SberSpasibo loyalty program from September 1. Previously, the bank lowered it in some categories of purchases due to the reduction by the Central Bank of the commission for accepting cards for payment to 1%.

SberSpasibo is a bank loyalty program that provides bonuses for paying for goods and services with a card. You can spend points at 75,000 bank partners, including Delievery Club, Okko, DomClick, Shokoladnitsa, Kinomax, Daughters and Sons, LitRes, Sokolov, Svyaznoy.

“We have always positioned these measures as temporary and have been looking forward to the lifting of restrictions on the acquiring commission. The changes in the SberSpasibo program were minor: the amount of bonuses decreased from 0.5% to 0.3% of the purchase amount in certain categories. And for purchases in partner stores and special promotions of the program, bonuses were accrued all this time, as before, without any changes. But now we are once again returning favorable conditions for the loyalty program,”— informed Andrey Pisarev, CEO of the SberSpasibo loyalty program.

Sberbank introduced restrictions from June 1 to August 31, 2022. The reduced percentage of bonus accrual applied to the categories of purchases Transport, Childhood, Cosmetics, Electronics and household appliances, Cinema, Entertainment, Education, Health, Sports and fitness, Supermarkets , “Gas Station”, “Clothes and Shoes” and “Home Goods”.

In March, the Central Bank announced on reducing the acquiring rate to 1% for companies selling socially significant goods and services, “in order to enable businesses to rebuild their logistics and processes by reducing costs in the current economic conditions.” The measures are valid from April 18 to August 31, 2022. Previously, the commission was 1.2–2.2%, depending on the type of card or the type of activity of the enterprise.

At the end of 2021, Sberbank ranks first in terms of its share in the credit card market — 43.3%. However, this indicator of the company fell to a minimum in five years.
