The founder, general director and majority shareholder of the SDEK operator Leonid Goldort, who emigrated to Israel, wants to sell his stake in SDEK-Global LLC (a legal entity of SDEK), they report “Vedomosti” with reference to sources. According to SPARK at the end of 2020, Mr. Goldort had 55.44% in the company. According to one of the publication’s interlocutors, 15 counterparties showed interest in the deal.

According to Vedomosti, negotiations on the purchase of a stake in SDEK were conducted by Sovcombank, Tinkoff Bank, AFK Sistema, and Qiwi. Also interested in the deal were Russian Post, Sberbank, and Delimobil. It is alleged that the 5post delivery service has been in active negotiations over the past month.

According to the newspaper, Sovcombank refused to purchase the asset, considering it overvalued. One of Vedomosti’s sources clarified that the problem with estimating the company’s value is slowing down the negotiations. The range of SDEK estimates during due diligence by Sovcombank, Tinkoff Bank, AFK Sistema and Qiwi amounted to from 20 billion to 25 billion rubles, based on this, the value of Leonid Goldort’s share is 11–13.86 billion rubles. The X5 Group subsidiary valued the company at 30–35 billion rubles, in this case the share of its founder will be 16.6–19.4 billion rubles, Vedomosti clarifies.

Mr. Goldort said that SDEK is “open to strategic partnerships,” but avoided answering the question about the sale of its stake. Sovcombank and AFK Sistema did not confirm the information about the negotiations; a Qiwi representative declined to comment. X5 said that they inform “only about completed transactions.” Representatives of Russian Post, Sberbank and Tinkoff Bank did not comment on the publication.

Other co-owners of SDEK are Vyacheslav Piksaev (he owns 37%, according to SPARK data as of July 2023), Inna Yakovleva (6.5% as of July 2023), Evgeny Tsatsura (1%, according to SPARK data as of October 2020). They do not intend to sell shares, added one of Vedomosti’s interlocutors.

In July, Kommersant learned that SDEK, which had been developing a network of parcel terminals with device manufacturer Omnic since 2020, left the project. According to experts, logistics companies are forced to reduce investments due to high competition from marketplaces developing their delivery.
