The former head of the Tretyakov Gallery, Zelfira Tregulova, became a member of the Society for the Promotion of Art. The art historian will take part in supporting art schools and talented artists.
“I am certainly happy to join the OSI team,” Ms. Tregulova said in a statement, quoted by the foundation’s press service (quoted from TASS). The art critic believes that “the synergistic effect of combining art and education will allow progressively changing the quality of life of modern society for the better.”
Zelfira Tregulova has served as CEO of the Tretyakov Gallery since 2015. She was retired in February 2023. The official reason is the expiration of the contract, which was last extended in 2018. Elena Pronicheva, a MGIMO graduate, former executive director of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center (2013–2020) and director of the Polytechnic Museum (since December 2020), has become the new director.
