Foreign companies managed by the Federal Property Management Agency will be able to receive government support

President Vladimir Putin instructed the Ministry of Finance to extend support measures to foreign companies that were transferred under the management of the Federal Property Management Agency, as for Russian ones. The head of state gave corresponding instructions at a meeting in Chuvashia.

The head of the republic, Oleg Nikolaev, asked to adjust the standards. He said that the Baltika beer manufacturer cannot receive state support, since it remains a foreign company, although it has been transferred under state control. “We absolutely must do this,” said Mr. Putin (quoted by TASS).

Finance Minister Anton Siluanov promised to take “the necessary decisions” so that “such companies that are under Russian control can receive support on an equal basis with Russian enterprises.”

After Russia sent troops to Ukraine, Carlsberg decided to leave the Russian business and planned to sell Baltika. Last July, President Vladimir Putin signed decree on the transfer of shares in Baltika to the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency. Explaining the transfer of assets of Carlsberg and Danone under state management, Mr. Putin saidthat the management of these companies tried to intimidate their employees, Russian citizens.
