At the second stage of the investment quota program in the Far East, it is more expedient to build only large coastal processing plants capable of producing at least 100 tons of pollock fillets, minced meat or other products per day, as well as at least 20 tons of fishmeal, fat and other waste products. With such a proposal, the All-Russian Association of Fisheries (VARPE; it includes 70 companies) turned to the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian Food Policy and Environmental Management Sergei Mitin. In her letter, she asks that this initiative be included in the final minutes of the meeting of the working group, which took place on 20 April.
It was not possible to get Mitin’s comments. The receipt of the letter was confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Agency for Fishery, their representatives said that they are now working on this proposal.
