Fishing enterprises are faced with the problem of selling iwasi (Far Eastern sardines) against the backdrop of a record catch and the high cost of delivering such products from the Far East to the central part of Russia. This is stated in the analytical review of the processing company “Russian Fish World” dated September 15, which Vedomosti has at its disposal. The existence of the problem was also confirmed by Alexander Efremov, manager of the Dobroflot Group of Companies, which produces this fish. According to him, this year the volume of Iwasi catches is breaking records. As of September 18, according to Rosrybolovstvo, they amounted to 170,000 tons, which is 79% more than a year earlier.

The active period of its production begins in June and ends in November, explains Efremov. According to him, in recent days alone, 13,300 tons of this fish have been delivered to the port of Vladivostok.
