The fact that the Finnish Reima left Russia was announced by the company itself on its official website. It says that she received all the necessary permits from local authorities and closed the sale of assets on February 24, 2023. The new owner of the business, as follows from the message, was a “group of local investors.” According to SPARK-Interfax, 25% of Reima LLC was transferred to the structure of the Detsky Mir chain of children’s goods stores. Another 75% was received by Valan Management JSC. Its founders are not disclosed.
Reima is a famous children’s clothing brand. The company was founded back in 1944 and at first was engaged in altering military tents into overalls, but then it began to produce children’s overalls, jackets, down jackets, and so on. In Russia, it was represented by two brands – Reima and Lassie, which worked with large wholesale customers, including Detsky Mir, Kant, and others. The company had seven stores in Russia before the start of the CBO, which temporarily closed in March 2022, but franchise outlets continued to sell the company’s products. According to Reima’s official announcement, last fall it delivered the last orders to Russia (they were placed before February 2022), and it no longer delivered the 2023 collection to Russia.
